The Swiss House estate consists of an annex consisting of two granary buildings ("Stabbur") tied together by a link building and a villa, originally built as a summer retreat. This building is one of the earliest examples of the curious "Swiss Style" in Norway, a a highly ornamental style that becomes dominant in the latter half of the 19th century, derived from the vernacular of the Alps.
